The El Dorado wildfire was indeed caused by a damn gender reveal party.
The state that loves to scream from the mountain tops about how they want to preserve nature (by also not participating in proper fire clearing procedures per the democratic governor’s directive) and not assume genders (nor believe in genders at all)… yeah, that one.
Fox News reported:
Bennett Milloy, a spokesperson for California’s Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, told the Daily Mail that the couple whose gender reveal party triggered the El Dorado wildfire could be liable to foot the entire bill for the destruction which is expected to cost millions.
My heart goes out to the family for having to potentially deal with something so drastic while they’re expanding their family, but they also caused something very drastic… so I’m wondering if the state is attempting to make an example out of them, whether they make them fully responsible for the expenses or not.

According to a news release by the agency on Sunday, the fire, which is determined to have been started by a smoke-generating pyrotechnic device for the gender reveal party, began at 10:23 am on September 5 in the El Dorado Ranch Park in Yucaipa.
The fire spread from the park to the north onto the Yucaipa Ridge.
The ridge separates Mountain Home Village and Forest Falls from the City of Yucaipa.
If the couple is in fact held liable for the suppression costs of putting out the fire, it could cost them millions of dollars. Furthermore, they could be responsible for other criminal charges which, if homes become destroyed as a result from the fires, would increase the severity of said charges. The family could be hit with arson convictions, which could result in a nine year sentence, including violations of California’s penal code section 452 (public resources codes).
FEMA also offers Fire Management Assistance Grants, which offers 75% of the cost to be covered by federal funding while a state pays the remaining 25%.
So, not only is the family responsible, but so are the taxpayers throughout the rest of the country?
I mean, I think they’d be doing an incredible disservice to the public if they don’t name their child Sparky.
Maybe the family could say they were set up. I know a gal who can help them with that.
