You may have noticed that Daisy and I haven’t been posting for the past few days. We had one of those amazing and elusive things known as a Long Weekend.
ANYWAY, the day before we left our radio day jobs for our respective Long Weekends, we were given a couple of new scripts to record for an advertising partner we work with at 93WIBC. Zerorez Indianapolis was our very first endorsement once we got our radio gig over 2 years ago, and we totally mean it when we say that they are AWESOME. It’s super easy doing endorsements for products/companies we believe in.
Usually, before we record our ads, we review them. We read them over once or twice just to make sure that we’re prepared to record them effectively. This time, though, because we had our Long Weekends on our minds, we were feeling kinda flighty and honestly, we’d sort of mentally checked out, so we didn’t read them in advance. And it turned out, that right in the middle of the ad, Daisy was supposed to respond to one of my lines with a “HA!” which she was not prepared to say, and which I was certainly not prepared to hear. And as you’ll hear in the clip below, hilarity ensued.
And this is what happens when you’re not prepared for the script, y’all.
Anyway, we eventually got ourselves together and modified the line so that it was more natural and not as absurd to say or hear, but DAYUM – it took a while for us to get over our fit of giggles.
Hopefully this was at least mildly amusing to you, because to us, it was like the Most Hilarious Thing Ever, and I’m still laughing about it.
Let this be a lesson to all of us. PREPARATION IS IMPORTANT. And if you can’t be prepared, at least have a good sense of humor about it.
