Groom Gets Cold Feet And Cancels Wedding, Bride’s Family Opens Venue To The Homeless Community

Quinn Duane was devastated after her fiancé, Landon Borup, got cold feet and canceled their wedding less than a week before the big day.

Can you even imagine?

They were supposed to wed at the luxurious Citizen Hotel. It wasn’t any cheap event. This is a $35,000 ceremony we’re talking about.

Instead of canceling the wedding events altogether, the bride’s family decided to do something totally unconventional. They opened up the extravagant would-be wedding reception dinner to the city’s homeless community.

“When I found out on Monday that the wedding would not be taking place, it just seemed like, of course, this would be something that we would do to give back,” the bride’s mother said.

Rashad Abdullah was one of those in attendance. He brought his wife and five children and said it was an incredible blessing.

“When you’re going through a hard time and a struggle, for you to get out to do something different with your family, it was really a blessing,” he said.

“To lose out on something so important to yourself and then give it to someone else is really giving, really kind,” his wife Erika Craycraft said.

Talk about making the most of a bad situation. Blessing others. Awesome.
