Ashley Judd Is All Set To Begin Her Look-At-My-Victimhood Tour. First Stop, Diane Sawyer.

According to this,  Ashley Judd plans to give her first TV interview since finally naming Harvey Weinstein as the “mogul” who sexually harassed her, and she’ll be doing that with ABC’s Diane Sawyer.

It’s happening on Thursday, and it’ll run on like every news show ABC has – GMA, World News Tonight, Nightline, etc. etc. etc.

Now, some of you will say I’m a cynic (or worse) and that’s likely because you don’t know my history with Ashley Judd, who I loathe with the fury of a billion suns.   Here’s the thing.  Ashley Judd isn’t brave or a hero or courageous or any of the other ridiculous words of praise being heaped on her at the moment.   She’s a self-serving seahag, for all of the reasons I gave right here. 

And the fact that she’s now going to be making the TV rounds, starting with Diane Sawyer, is just more self-promoting, egocentric, LOOK-AT-ME, self-serving, narcissistic publicity-seeking.  That’s all it is.  She needs the spotlight, and this is the perfect way for her to play the part of victim, which is what feminists excel at, but at the same time present herself as some sort of fierce heroine to her feminist sisters.

It’s all so unbelievably transparent, gratuitous, and vainglorious.

Two decades ago, Judd was summoned to Weinstein’s hotel room and forced to watch him take a shower.

OMG you guys – when Daisy read that line, she took to our FB messenger chat group that we have with our Chicklets, and said this:

“I don’t even understand that sentence.  Did he do it at gunpoint?  Someone needs to unpack that for me.  I need someone to SERIOUSLY UNTANGLE THAT she was FORCED to watch a dude TAKE A SHOWER.  What in the hell does that even MEAN?  Were there DOORS in the room? Was she tied to a chair?  Handcuffed to the sink?”

I mean, you have to admit, Daisy’s got a point.

But the answer to her questions, of course, is that the only thing keeping Ashley Judd in the room to watch Weinstein shower was the fact that her desire for fame and money outweighed her integrity in that moment.  She cared more about not alienating a man she thought could boost her career than she did about the fact that he was being a disgusting perv.

Now, there are conflicting reports about what happened in that hotel room.  When Ashley first talked about the harassment back in 2015, when she was still unwilling to name the “mogul” she said this:

The ultimate thing when I was weaseling out of everything else was, “Will you watch me take a shower?” And all the other women, sitting around this table with me, said, “Oh my god—that’s what he said to me too.” In that moment, I told him something like, “When I win an Academy Award in one of your movies.” He said, “No, when you get nominated.” I said, “No, no, when I win an Academy Award.” That was a small moment of power when I was able to contradict him and hold to my reality. And then I got out of there. And by the way, I’ve never been offered a movie by that studio. Ever.

Except that she WAS offered a movie by that studio – twice, according to the NYT article which she herself linked to on her own Facebook page.  And she happily accepted the roles. And if you’ll notice, according to that account, she wasn’t forced to watch him shower – she weaseled out of it by making a joke about him getting her an Oscar (again, integrity!), and then “got out of there.”

And now?  Now the sourcelink about her interview with Diane Sawyer says she was forced to watch him shower.

The story will change again, because it always does with Ashley Judd.  What doesn’t ever change is her desperate need for constant attention from the public, and her need to be seen as some sort of feminist hero.

I just see her as a pussy-hat wearing narcissist.
