Police Investigating Recent Terror Incident In Canada

It all started last night, when a man rammed his vehicle into a police officer outside of Commonwealth Stadium. The suspect, who was armed with a knife, jumped out of the vehicle and stabbed the officer multiple times before running off.

Thank God, the officer is not in critical condition.

Later on in the night, officers stopped a U-Haul van for suspected impaired driving and realized the man’s name sounded like the name of the person the original vehicle was registered to. When the suspect realized he was done for, he took off in the U-Haul and purposefully plowed into pedestrians. Four pedestrians were injured, but we don’t know the extent of their injuries.

The van eventually flipped over, and as it turns out, the suspect was “known to police.” To top it all off, authorities discovered an ISIS flag inside of the vehicle.

Normal non-terrorist people don’t typically carry those around.

Needless to say, Edmonton Police Chief Rod Knecht said they’re treating this as a terror-related attack.

Knecht, standing side by side with representatives of the RCMP, said based on evidence at the scene, and the actions of the suspect “it was determined that these incidents are being investigated as acts of terrorism under section 83.2 of the criminal code.”

 

Knecht also confirmed that an ISIS flag was discovered in the vehicle the suspect was driving when he rammed, then stabbed the police officer. And that the flag is part of the investigation.
