Ocasio-Cortez Has a New Idea for Healthcare, and It’s Really, Really Bad

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) seems to keep trying to top herself when it comes to bad ideas. And often what makes the ideas worse is she doesn’t seem to get why they are so bad, and pushes them more as great solutions.

There’s the Green New Deal of course.

But on Wednesday, she stepped in it, but good, in another area.

She spoke at a veterans’ care town hall in the Bronx that was organized by the left-wing National Nurses United.

There are perhaps few things that have seemed worse and been more of a boondoggle of failure than VA care, through multiple administrations. The Trump administration is finally making a dent in the problems and helping to provide better care by allowing veterans to use private institutions for care. But she’s not “pro-choice” when it comes to that, she is against any privatization of the system. And she wants the VA to be the care for all? Incredible.

This is what she claimed:

From The Nation:

She said that should Medicare for All be passed, the VA would most likely remain unchanged. While many champions of universal health-care coverage are fighting to essentially abolish private health insurance while retaining the private hospital system, AOC said in an ideal world, the civilian health system would mirror what’s currently offered to veterans. “If you ask me, I would like VA for all,” she said to cheers.

As Twitchy observes, she wants to translate that to “ungodly wait times, unsanitary conditions, and substandard care” for all? What is she thinking? Or does she not know or care about the years of information on this?

And it’s particularly bad in the Bronx, Ocasio-Cortez’s district, according to this Twitter user:
