Michelle Obama Suffers Backlash After She Compares Living in America Under Trump to a Child Visiting Their Divorced Dad on the Weekend

Michelle Obama has been busy promoting her memoir “Becoming.” She participated in a big interview with Stephen Colbert over the weekend and accidentally slapped a big chunk of the population across the face in the process. She essentially compared the US to a teenager visiting their divorced dad (Trump) during a torturous, prolonged weekend.

“We come from a broken family, we are a little unsettled,” Michelle O said. “Sometimes you spend the weekend with divorced dad. That feels like fun but then you get sick. That is what America is going through. We are living with divorced dad.”

If someone said something like that about single moms, feminists would be screaming at the top of their lungs. They’d be all, “How DARE she insult single moms like that! It’s offensive to assume that they’re all train wrecks!” or whatever. Oddly enough, they don’t have a problem with her description of divorced dads.

This shouldn’t even need to be said, but Michelle Obama is perpetuating another lame stereotype. You know it. Divorced dads are selfish losers who live in a single bedroom apartment and give their kids fruit loops and smarties for dinner, because they don’t know how to parent.

That’s how she views divorced dads, and that’s how she views the state of our country right now.

Way to slap our country AND divorced dads in the face, Michelle.

She went on to describe her family as “normal.”

“We were always ourselves – the presidency does not change who you are, it reveals who you are,” she said.

Yeah. And it’s evident that you STILL think that you’re better than everyone else.

“It is like swimming in the ocean with great waves. If you are not a great swimmer, you are not going to learn in the middle of a tidal wave. You are going to resort to your kicking and drowning and what you knew how to do in the pool,” she added.

She went on to say that we’re living in a “dark” chapter in history. Because as you know, economic prosperity and “America First” are extremely awful.

“This may feel like a dark chapter but any story has its highs and lows but it continues. Yes, we are in a low but we have been lower. We have had tougher times, we have had more to fear. We have lived through slavery, the Holocaust and segregation,” she said.

“We have always come out at the other end – better and stronger. We are moving in a direction of diversity and inclusion. No-one ever said it would be easy. We are just in the throes of the uneasy path of change,” she added.

She also reminded everyone that people voted for her husband twice and added that they’d probably give him a third term if possible.

“That really did happen. People would have voted for him for a third time,” she said. “What is going on today is true but what happened before was also true. That should give us some solace at some level. For eight years, the president they saw in their country was Barack Obama. He was somebody who people thought was smart and would do the right thing.”

Um…the American people were so fed up with your husband and his policies that they voted for DONALD FREAKING TRUMP. Are you delusional, Michelle?
