Border Patrol Union President: Dropping Illegal Aliens in Sanctuary Cities Is ‘Brilliant’ and Legal

WATCH: Trump considers releasing migrants into sanctuary cities

National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd put a big stake in the Democratic narrative when he appeared on “Fox and Friends” on Sunday.

Judd skewered the claim of people like California Governor Gavin Newsom and House Judiciary Committee Chair and anti-Trump Democrat, Jerry Nadler (D-NY) that transporting illegal aliens to and sanctuary cities was “illegal.”

Not only was it legal, Judd said, he called it a “brilliant move” and said it should be cheered by people on both sides of the aisle.

From Daily Caller:

“It’s absolutely legal,” Judd explained. “But I’m going to get beaten up by the hard left for this comment. But this is actually a brilliant move on the president’s part.”

Judd broke down the why he thought it was such a good idea.

“If he’s doing it for humanitarian purposes, he should be praised,” Judd began. “These are cities that the city councils have consciously made a decision they’re going to accept the illegal aliens into their cities to protect them.”

But then Judd addressed the flip side, saying, “If he’s doing it for political reasons, this is brilliant. These people have to be released for one reason or another. And if we’re going to have to release them, why not show the sanctuary cities the same pressure that other cities are feeling.”

“From those two layers, this is a brilliant move,” Judd concluded.

As Judd notes, it’s a big unforced error on the part of the Democrats. He says they are showing their hypocrisy because they claim to want them in their cities but then when Trump says “here they are,” they don’t want them there.
