Lindsey Graham 2.0 Delivers Line Of The Night Behind Closed Doors At Mar-a-Lago

Sen. Lindsey Graham was the keynote speaker at the Palm Beach County Republican Party’s Lincoln Dinner last night that.

Also in attendance were other prominent Republicans such as former Rep. Trey Gowdy, Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) and Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.

The dinner was held at Mar-a-Lago, but President Donald Trump wasn’t expected to attend. But he made a surprise appearance with the First Lady.

“If Lindsey’s speaking, I want to come down here,” Trump said. He joked, “For two reasons. No. 1: he’s a great speaker. And No. 2, I know if I’m here, he’s not going to say anything bad about me.”

Trump introduced the “our great First Lady,” noting “she’s more popular than me” and saying, “Honey, come up here.”

Although the Mueller report had been turned in by that point, no one publicly touched on it apart from noting it was done.

According to The Epoch Times , when Graham spoke, he peppered his talk with jokes and spoke about his relationship with Trump. “We found a lot in common. I like him and he likes him,” Graham laughed, noting how their relationship has evolved to an appreciation for each other.

And then Graham picked up on a theme he has been pushing, that now that the Mueller investigation is over, that it’s time to look into Hillary Clinton’s actions and the FISA abuse to spy on the Trump team. Graham has called for a special counsel to investigate the alleged misconduct of the DOJ and the FBI.

When Graham spoke of Hillary Clinton, the audience chanted, “Lock her up.”

But Graham offered a different view, delivering the line of the night. “Don’t lock her up! We want her to run again,” he said, prompting roaring laughter from the attendees and delighting the crowd.

Previously, Graham noted some of the questions he wanted answers to and that he was going to pursue.

“There are two questions that I think the public deserves an answer to: Did they short-circuit the Clinton e-mail investigation because they wanted her to win, and they knew if they charged her she might lose? Did they start the Russian investigation against Trump as an insurance policy in case he did win? Those are the two questions that I’ll try to get you answers to,” Graham told Fox News on March 13.
