PHOTOS: Marines Who Risked Lives to Save Senior Citizens in Fire Get a Special Visit from Trump and Melania

There’s no doubt that Trump loves the military. It’s something he’s talked about since the start of his campaign and since becoming president he’s done some really great things like rebuilding the military and helping our veterans.

You might have heard the recent story about a group of Marines who rushed into a burning building to save senior citizens.

From Fox News:

When a fire broke out Wednesday at a senior citizens apartment building in Washington, D.C., about 100 Marines came running to help, according to a report.

The Marines, stationed just a half-mile away, took action after they saw smoke pouring from the building, Washington’s FOX 5 reported.

“Marines rushed into the building to rescue those who needed assistance and evacuated residents to the Marine Barracks Washington Annex where they were checked and treated for any injuries and sheltered until their loved ones arrived,” Marine Barracks Washington 8th & I said in a statement on Facebook.

Heroes in every sense of the word.

President Trump noticed that story and on Thursday he showed up to acknowledge those brave soldiers.

From Yahoo:

President Donald Trump paid a visit Thursday to the Marine Barracks and met with Marines who responded to a fire at a local public housing complex.

The president and first lady Melania Trump spent about 40 minutes at the facility, where about 150 Marines had gathered in an event space at tables set with mini pumpkin pies.

The Trumps went around the room, greeting the Marines one by one, and later sat with some at a table.

Gotta love it.

Nice having a president who cares about the troops the way he does.
