Paris Shifts Pest Perspective to Rat Acceptance

Paris’s rat problem has become so profound, they’ve established a committee to figure out just what the hell to do about it, and their current proposition is, believe it or not, cohabitation.
The idea is based on an ongoing study called, I sh*t you not, Project Armageddon, which is simultaneously trying to address the rat infestation and do some PR for rats.
Now, before I continue, let me make it clear that this is a RAT-FRIENDLY SPACE. Cute lil ears! Tiny grabbies! So adorable! Take your musophobia somewhere else!
Moving on, the rat problem was exacerbated after sanitation workers went on strike over an increase in the retirement age; New York, too, saw an enormous increase in their rat population during COVID. So clearly something’s gotta give, the question is just what. Or rather, who.
The team appears to still be in the asking questions phase, so there’s no plans in place yet. Not that anyone’s asked, but my recommendation would be to hand it over to the rats. They outnumber us. They’re cuter than us. I mean, what do Parisians even have going for them that rats CAN’T do, and do better? Cook? Nice try, I’ve seen Ratatouille. Paint? I beg your pardon.
Let ’em have it. Put the city of Paris in their lil tiny people hands.
UGH. SO CUTE.

Here in the USA we learned to tolerate rats a long time ago. In fact, we are tolerating a rat in the Whitehouse and numerous rats in the Capital building.
I’m sure China would love to see a European health crisis that takes some heat off them. We haven’t had a good plague for months (weeks?) now that Covid is a distant memory.
They have a new one cooked up. It is too early to release it upon us, the election is too far in the future.
Totes adorbs, what with the Hanta Virus and all…. 😉
