Daisy Here. I’m Doing This Wall Of Shame Post, Because I’m Not As “Touchy” As Mock…
If you’ve been here more than ten minutes, you know that Mock is the Queen of the Wall of Shame. She LIVES for this Wall and the reasons behind it, y’all. I, on the other hand, like to stand in the background and occasionally snicker at the people who are being mocked rather than be directly involved in it. Once upon a time, when we started our site almost 14 years ago, I used to experience a temporary wave of joy sparring with people who wanted to pick a fight with me over random things. I would take great pride in those trivial battles. But then I realized that I was wasting a lot of time arguing with people that were really not mad at me, per se. They were mad at other things and just taking it OUT on me. This was valuable time that I could spend learning new skills or just staring blankly out a window. You know. Activities that give me more intellectual enrichment. So I stopped giving them my valuable time because they didn’t earn it, frankly.
Mock was a Psych major, though. So there’s no stopping her. She is in it for the intrigue of it all. The long haul, if you will. Plus, it makes our site a little bit of money, so if we can get a few pairs of shoes out of it, God bless her for that. She will forever be the Queen of the Wall, as well as the Chick who watches those shows where people ingest their own hair until they have to have giant balls of it removed surgically from their intestines. You know. She loves the freakshows, and I love her for that.
Therein lies one of the many examples of the Chicks yin and yang. We’re like an onion with many layers, people.
Anywho, we had THIS interesting email come to us today – well, directed to Mock, anyway. I guess because people think that I don’t get our emails or co-run our site or am privy to these exchanges on a daily basis, which is always fascinating to me:
Yikes. So, we’ll just say that this message was from Judy. Now, math isn’t my strong suit, either, but “half of the broadcast?” I’d say that’s just a BIT dramatic.
Mock responded:
Now, Mock did what I wouldn’t have done, and that’s RESPOND to Judy. I would’ve just deleted her freaking email, because I don’t owe Judy one iota of an explanation for how we do our FREE show for her, with anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour’s worth of content every day. A show that she doesn’t pay a dime for, every single day, for FREE. Did I mention that our show was free? And that Judy enjoys it free of charge – that is, when she’s not complaining about how she’s not enjoying it because of those pesky ads that enable us to provide the show to her? You know, for free?
I wonder if Judy contacts her local TV affiliate and complains to them about how many commercials they play during the hour, even though I’m pretty certain that she pays a monthly fee for that satellite/TV service. I bet they get sick of hearing from Judy, huh?
She responded:
Actually, we’re all about the snark, so a snarky response shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. Our brand is centered around common sense, humor, and sarcasm. Hello. As a conservative, I would hope that Judy would be delighted for us to incorporate some ads into our show. Because capitalism, free market, and also, because it’s our freaking show. YAY two conservative business women running their business as they see fit.
Have I mentioned that Judy gets the show for free?
This is WHY Mock answers emails like Judy’s. I love the “have the day you deserve.” That’s sort of the equivalent of me saying “Bless your heart.” Nice touch, Mock. I may not be as touchy as Mock, but she was in Human Resources. The last time I worked in corporate America, I was at the Director level, and let’s just say it’s a good thing Mock handles the bulk of our emails and that I’m no longer in corporate America.
Aaaaaaand, Judy responded:
But you also went and dissed us on our YouTube subscriber count – as if that is a gauge of success? I love how people who think they know about the industry throw stuff out like that and show how little they actually know. I’ve also always hated the expression “ROFLMAO,” because it looks like something Scooby Doo would say, and does anyone actually think that Judy is actually rolling on her floor laughing about this stupid exchange? If she is, that’s wack.
Mock wrote back:
Checkmate. I meeeeean, when you’re so upset about a nickname and a few minutes of advertisements during a podcast that you take time out of your day to hunt down our email, write about said time we spent on ads that day (and your calculations are wildly inaccurate, mind you), then perhaps YOU’RE the one who is in need of the Xanax.
Wall of Shame comes up. Attitude changes instantly. Totally predictable.
Well, thank God our (free) show was good enough for Judy today. And that I’m not as touchy as that off-the-rails, super-sensitive Mock.

Daisy, you are not as touchy as Mock. That’s visible. Sorry but i can’t believe someone would waste their time with this back and forth because an anonymous person said… whatever it is that they said. I occasionally listened to the radio show when it was Mock and Rob and happened to catch Rob saying that Mock always has to have the last word. That’s absolutely true and guess what, it’s REALLY immature. I can’t imagine working with someone who gets this offended at what sometimes is just feedback.

You know what I do when there is an ad that I don’t give a crap about? I surf the net or scroll down to read responses or watch the live chat. Sometimes I might fast forward through it if I’m watching after the show was shot live. It’s not a big deal considering that thanks to the ad revenue, your show is free to watch. I do the same for pet rescue organizations that post videos about animals they rescue and I figure if I suffer through the ads, I’m contributing to their efforts. Although I have to admit, I was watching the spa ad on your show and wishing I had a place to put one. lol
Ha ha… Judy is a Moron. And when she went back and read her original email, knew she couldn’t defend herself and tried to back out with dignity…..FAIL! I so enjoy Mock’s ability to word-spar. Brings a tear to my eye, joy to my heart and relieved that I’m not the only one that likes to engage.
Reminds me of the clip played regularly by the local radio station. A guy called up the radio station and was complaining because he had called earlier and the person at the station had hung up on him before he was through telling him the problem. Then you hear a click and the dial tone.
Sorry bored at home again. Probably should be checking as to why I have heard either grandkid make any noises in the front family room in quite a while. Hopefully they are still here. LOL Here is a tee shirt for you both. It says:
