If you look around at the kiddos these days, you’ll notice that this generation has become a wee bit softer than the last. If you’re triggered by that, you may very well be in one of the younger generations. Mock and I have talked many times – on our podcast and otherwise – about how men these days have become emasculated, and how there is a general lack of BALLS in today’s world.
With that said, it’s super refreshing to see a display of manliness – of genuine real-man heroism – displayed in random places.
This is in my stompin’ grounds – the Belton, Texas rodeo at the Bell County Expo Center (right up the road from our home!). Landis Hooks is the father in this video, and he jumped into the ring when his 18-year old son, Cody, was thrown from a bull right after leaving the gate (Cody is obviously the bullrider). Cody fell off, hit hard, and was left unconscious as a result. The bull was coming back for more, but Cody’s Dad was simply not having it.

What we wouldn’t do for our kids, amirite? Or would most Dads these days do this?
You may want to step up your Daddy’in, because I’m pretty sure this guy just got Father of the Year.
A hearty Chick saaaaaalute. And #BALLS.
