MLB Team Cleveland Indians Announce New Politically Correct Name, it Doesn’t Go Over Well

The Cleveland Indians have been canceled.

The name they’ve had since 1915 is gone.

Now they will be called the “Cleveland Guardians,” presumably to be less offensive.

Far left-wing actor Tom Hanks delivered the news by narrating a video as part of the team’s announcement.

Here’s their new logo:

Hanks said, “And now it’s time to unite as one family, one community to build the next era for this team and this city, to keep watch and guard what makes this game the greatest, to come together and welcome all who want to join us.”

“We are loyal and proud and resilient,” Hanks continued. “We protect what we earned and always defend it. Together we stand with all who understand what it means to be born and built from the Land.

“Because this is the city we love and the game we believe in and together we are all Cleveland Guardians,” he concluded.

The satirical site, Babylon Bee, joked about the team’s new name and attempt not to offend anyone:

This announcement appeared to backfire as people expressed their disapproval across social media. From Western Journal:

It keeps getting worse.

As we previously reported, the U.S. women’s soccer team has been heavily criticized after adopting “woke” protests during the National Anthem while losing 3 to 0 against Sweden in the Olympic opener. This effectively ended their 44-game winning streak.

Now the team was absent from the Olympics opening ceremony on Friday, citing a scheduling conflict.

Megan Rapinoe said the team couldn’t be at the opening ceremony because the players had practice. Rapinoe said, “Obviously we can’t be there, I don’t know who scheduled us to practice at this time.”

“I’m so happy they lost,” Matt Walsh writes. “I’m actively rooting against US women’s soccer.” Matt Walsh continued, “I want them to be humiliated and embarrassed, just as they humiliate and embarrass our country.”
