In A Controversial Move, Senate Panel Just Voted to Make Women Register for Draft

Is this simply more political correctness?

A new defense policy bill would require women to register for the draft.

The language of the bill was approved by the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Expanding the draft to include women is being called a “necessary and fair step.”

This is extremely controversial because, understandably, it makes very little sense for the military to consider “fairness” while protectiong the nation.

The Hill reports:

The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) approved by the committee behind closed doors Wednesday “amends the Military Selective Service Act to require the registration of women for Selective Service,” according to a summary released Thursday.

The United States has not instituted a draft since the Vietnam War, and Pentagon officials have repeatedly said they intend to keep the force all-volunteer.

But men ages 18 through 25 still have to register with what’s officially known as the Selective Service System or face consequences such as losing access to federal financial aid for college.

Congress has been debating whether to expand the registration requirement to women since all combat jobs were opened to female service members in 2016.

TRENDING 👇 Cleveland Indians Announce New Politically Correct Name

The Cleveland Indians have been canceled.

The name they’ve had since 1915 is gone. Now they will be called the “Cleveland Guardians,” presumably to be less offensive.

Far left-wing actor Tom Hanks delivered the news by narrating a video as part of the team’s announcement. Here’s their new logo:

Hanks said, “And now it’s time to unite as one family, one community to build the next era for this team and this city, to keep watch and guard what makes this game the greatest, to come together and welcome all who want to join us. We are loyal and proud and resilient,” Hanks continued. “We protect what we earned and always defend it. Together we stand with all who understand what it means to be born and built from the Land.”

The satirical site, Babylon Bee, joked about the team’s new name and attempt not to offend anyone:
