Vice President Kamala Harris, who has had very little interest in communicating with the American people in really any way other than donkey-reminiscent cackling, finally gave an interview to Lester Holt.
.@LesterHoltNBC pushes Harris on the border including why she hasn’t visited.
Harris: “We’ve been the border.”
Holt: “YOU haven’t been to the border.”
Harris: “…..and I haven’t been to Europe. I don’t understand the point you’re making.”

Honestly, at this point, I’m shocked that Holt actually pressed her on a couple of points. Usually the mainstream media figures just turn these “interviews” into more of a positive public relations promotional video. But to his credit, Lester asked a couple of legitimate questions which led to one of the most meme-worthy one-liners we’ve seen recently.
Lester asked about the border crisis, as Harris was appointed to be in charge of the abysmal border situation. Of course, she doesn’t want to come near the border crisis, lest she be tainted with the stink of such a complete and utter political and social disaster. So, to no one’s surprise, Kamala Harris still hasn’t visited the border. When called out for it, Kamala predictably acted like a petulant 9 year old being snarky to her mom.
See, I have a 9 year old boy who has entered the stage of talking back with sarcasm and snark, and this is exactly something he would say. So apparently we have a petulant and snarky 9 year old in the Vice Presidency. Fabulous.
Listen to this exchange.

First of all, I’m ridiculously annoyed at her diminutive response when she repeats, “We are going to the border. We’ve been to the border. We’ve been to the border. We’ve been to the border.” As though we’re all idiots who need to have it repeated to us four times with pinched fingers for emphasis. She is so incredibly condescending.
Props to Lester for rolling with her condescending snark and firing back with, “You haven’t been to the border.” Thank you! Thank you for finally pressing.
And her hilarious response is, “And I haven’t been to Europe. I don’t understand the point you’re making.”
Oh, really? She doesn’t understand the point he’s making? For real? Is she that stupid? Or is she just playing stupid and acting super dismissive of this legitimate question and hoping people will believe that it’s not important? Does she really think that not having visited Europe is the same as not having visited the southern border where there is a massive and devastating crisis which she is supposedly overseeing? Or does she really think we’re so stupid that we’ll just laugh it off with her?
Second of all, I might actually agree with her if she had approached this in a different way. Hear me out.
Imagine if she had said:
‘Lester, thanks for giving me the opportunity to address this, since I’ve received a lot of backlash on this point. I don’t feel the need to visit the border in person because I have competent and qualified representatives visiting for me and keeping me very well apprised of what’s going on. I have far too much to do here and it is incredibly costly to the tax payers for me to make a trip down to the border simply for a photo op that would prove I had made an unnecessary visit. I don’t believe that’s the best way to tackle this very difficult situation, but I assure you that I’m doing everything I can to rectify the situation and secure our southern border.’
Now, if she had said this, I might have clapped because I agree. But here’s the thing. This would require her to have competent and qualified representatives (I’m skeptical) who would keep her well apprised (I’m skeptical), that she actually has far too much to do in DC (I’m skeptical), and that she would be doing everything she can to rectify the situation (we all know that’s not true). I’m actually not a fan of presidential (or vice presidential) visits to view devastated locations, whether from weather storms, political storms, or crime storms. There’s nothing that I believe will be accomplished by leadership looking at it that would be better than leadership actually doing something to help. Plus, it saves tax payers money. I’d prefer they just did their job rather than worrying about a photo op proving they visited. But that means that they do have to actually be doing things to address the problems, not just ignoring them. And Kamala has don’t very little to prove to the American people that she cares or is taking this seriously. She won’t even answer this question seriously, much less address the problem seriously.
Instead of giving an intelligent and well formulated response about why the person in charge of the border crisis is, by all accounts, unconcerned about the border crisis, she gave a petulant and snarky 9 year old response that makes no logical sense.
So, pretty standard for her.
