New Details Brought To Light On Daunte Wright, Reveal He Had Open Warrant For Allegedly Choking, Robbing Woman At Gunpoint

Allegedly, at the time Daunte Wright was pulled over for having expired registration on his vehicle, he also had a warrant out for his arrest and had a firearm in his possession, according to Fox News.

However, that’s not all. The Warrant for Daunte Wright’s arrest was for aggravated armed robbery.

Wright and an Emajay Maurice Driver were identified as the perpetrators that committed an armed robbery on a resident of Osseo, Minnesota.

Allegedly Wright and Driver attended a party in Osseo and when they were asked to leave they stated that they did not have transportation.

Allegedly the woman allowed Wright and Driver to stay the night.

With the sun’s rise so did Wright’s and Driver’s malicious intent.

A resident at the home where the party took place went to get rent money totaling $820.

The roommate paid her rent and left for work.

While Wright and Driver awaited their rides they allegedly blocked the door and demanded the money the woman had just received for a rent payment.

The woman said Wright pulled a black handgun “with silver trim out from either his right waistband or his right coat pocket.”

“Are you serious?” The woman asked.

According to court documentation, Wright said, “Give me the f—ing money, I know you have it.”

“I’m not playing around.”

Court documents state that the victim “started to kneel down and scream.”

She was told to stop screaming by Driver, who urged her to give Wright the money.

Allegedly Wright choked the victim and attempted to the money from her bra.

Allegedly Wright exclaimed that he would pull the trigger.

“Give me the money and we will leave, give me the money and we will go.”

Eventually, Driver and Wright left the house without the money as they entered a Cadillac and left.

Duante Wright was recently shot and killed by a 26-year-veteran police office causing horrific violent riots in the city of Minneapolis.

In the body can footage Potter, the officer that shot Wright, was be heard saying, “I’ll Tase you! I’ll Tase you! Taser! Taser! Taser!”

“Holy (expletive)! I shot him.”

From Fox News:

He allegedly tried to choke her a second time and tried to take her money, according to the court documents. Driver allegedly told her to give Wright the money. The two men then left the apartment, got into a white Cadillac, and left the scene without the money. The woman later identified Wright and Driver via photo line-ups.

Wright was arrested and later released on $100,000 bail. As a condition of his release, he was not to have contact with the victim or witnesses, had to refrain from drugs and alcohol, and could not possess a firearm.

Wright’s bail was revoked in July because he allegedly possessed a firearm and was not keeping in touch with his probation officer, according to documents obtained by Fox News.

The case was still pending when Wright was pulled over Sunday for having an expired license plate. Police then tried to arrest him on an outstanding warrant after failing to appear in court on charges that he fled from officers and possessed a gun without a permit during an encounter with Minneapolis police in June.

Body camera footage released by the Brooklyn Center police department on Monday shows the moments after Wright had gotten out of his car. As an officer attempts to handcuff him, Wright pries himself loose and jumps back into his car.

Wright died of a gunshot wound to the chest, according to the medical examiner. Kim Potter, the officer charged with his killing, resigned Tuesday, as did the city’s police chief.

Wright’s death came as the Minneapolis area was already on edge over the trial of an officer charged in George Floyd’s death.
