As Recall Efforts Gain Momentum, California Suddenly Cares About Verifying Signatures

There is a “Rescue California” effort underway to recall the disastrous California Governor Gavin Newsom. Officials driving the effort report that they have collected more than 1.5 million signatures, enough to get a special election on the ballot.

All those 1.5 million signatures must be verified by the secretary of state’s office, who intends to maintain the highest standard for verification.

Which is absolutely hilarious considering the almost complete lack of signature verification standards for the 2020 presidential election.

The “Rescue California” group is aiming to collect up to 2 million signatures in order to compensate for the estimated 25% signature rejection rate.

Yes, that’s right. They are anticipating that 25% of their collected signatures will be tossed out during the verification process. Now compare that 25% rejection rate to the 0.6% rejection rate for the 2020 presidential election.

This is such a ridiculously absurd disparity in verification standards that even people who don’t have skin in the game must wonder why there is such a difference.

Could it be that they just didn’t want to look too closely at the signatures on presidential election ballots? If they had maintained these same rigorous standards, perhaps too many of those valuable Democrat-voting ballots would have been rejected, and they didn’t want to risk losing a single Democrat-voting ballot.

But they want to be as strict as possible on this recall petition because they don’t dare let a single suspect signature contribute to an effort to recall a Democrat.

In an interview with Fox News, Richard Grenell said,

“The state of California is controlled by a whole bunch of Democrats. One-party rule, they are going to go through every single signature we have and throw out ones. The verification process is going to be unlike anything we’ve ever seen. We still have a long way to go to gather signatures to put this on the ballot because they are going to play games. They already are.”

And that’s the long and short of it. With Democrats in total control, Gavin Newsom can party it up at the French Laundry while the rest of the state is suffering from strict lockdowns, and his Democrat buddies can cover for him to keep him in office.
