On Thursday, Andrew Yang,  previously known for his DFL Presidential Campaign, announced he would run for Mayor of New York City. The current Mayor, Bill de Blasio, cannot run for a third term.

Yang stated that he thought the city needed significant change and that he was that change. “We need bold ideas and fresh ideas to revive our city,” Yang said. “We need to look forward and adapt to economic challenges of today and the future. We also need a city government focused on competence and delivering for our people every day.”

Yang has experience living in New York City since when he moved there when he was 21.

Yang hopes his ‘Yang-Gang’ will back him up at the polls and support his endeavors to have “the largest basic income program in the history of the country.”

Oof. We all know what happens when the Government starts rolling out paychecks. But who knows, we might have to fain ignorance now that big tech is breathing down everyone’s throats.
