What a colossal waste of time and what a total and complete farce. President Trump never told his supporters to commit acts of violence or engage in any criminal activity. Just the opposite in fact.
A reminder of Pres Trump’s actual words, as he implored the crowd on Jan 6 to “peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.” pic.twitter.com/SweP9AR2dE

Did President Trump use rhetoric that worked people up? Sure. But one might say that election integrity is something worth getting worked up over. Too bad more members of the Congress, both Republican and Democrat, aren’t worked up over this critical issue.
Why is it that the GOP always has people stepping outside the party line on important issues and the Democrats never do? For starters, the GOP likely has more diversity of opinion and ideology than the Democratic Party. Therefore, a GOP member is more likely to take a stand on principal. They are more likely to vote their conscience.
Another possibility here is GOP members seek attention, praise, and kudos from popular culture and the mainstream media. Only when Republicans stab their own party in the back are they liked and adored. At all other times, they are called racist, bigoted, homophobes who hate poor people and don’t care for starving children.
Gretchen Carlson, formerly with Fox News, thinks Liz Cheney is now perfectly positioned to be the GOP presidential nominee in 2024. Carlson clearly does not understand the movement Trump started. There is ZERO chance Cheney will be the nominee.
Let me just put this here. Hard to make any predictions about anything right now …. but … I believe @Liz_Cheney sets herself up as the woman to beat in the GOP for President in 2024 in stepping forward to vote for impeachment in the House today.
