President Trump’s approval numbers have popped up according to the latest Gallup poll. Trump’s approval increased significantly from 43 percent in early April to 49 percent by the end of the month.
Is it any coincidence that this pop comes during the time that Trump ended the daily press conference circus? It was helpful at first but had devolved into a ridiculous sideshow that was repetitive and not all that informative, although somewhat entertaining. It had also started to become a daily marathon rather than 5k or 10k. Way too long!
The boost in approval may also be due to Trump’s push to focus on both public health and re-opening the economy. He wants to walk and chew gum at the same time, in contrast to many state governors.
Furthermore, Bill De Blasio, Governor Newsom and Governor Whitmer’s draconian power grabs and asinine restrictions also make Trump look even better.
A Gallup poll reveals President Donald Trump’s job approval rating bounced back to 49 percent in late April.
The poll conducted from April 14-28 showed Trump’s overall job approval at 49 percent; up six points from a 43 percent rating in early April.
That ties with Trump’s previous approval rating high of 49 percent, which he first hit in February and repeated in March.
Trump’s approval rating bump appears to be fueled by Independents.

Forty-seven percent of Independents in the poll approve of President Trump’s handling of his job, which Gallup noted was the highest rating for Trump among the group to date.
The poll shows Trump has a 93 percent job approval rating from Republicans and only eight percent of Democrats.
Overall, 50 percent of Americans approve of Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic while 48 percent disapprove.
I’m always amazed that a president who gets near zero positive mainstream news coverage, is constantly lied about, and has his words and views twisted has an approval rating higher than 20%. It’s truly miraculous.
But polls are polls and, overall, I don’t put much stock in them. As Rush Limbaugh often says, they are used more to shape public opinion than reflect it.
The ultimate and only public opinion poll that matters takes place in November on Election Day. I cannot wait!!!
As expected, Trump supporters loved the poll results while liberals found it shocking and unbelievable:

Gallup is not a trustworthy pollster.
— Phyllis Jackson (@mngalal) May 1, 2020
Not likely. We all know Gallup is unbelievably unreliable.
