The President has been very vocal about his displeasure with the way the World Health Organization (WHO) handled the coronavirus outbreak. President Trump claims the WHO, in cahoots with China, allowed the spread of coronavirus.
Trump says that the WHO spread false information and sometimes no information regarding contractability, severity, and treatment options.
Trump vowed to defund the WHO pending an investigation and went as far as halting any future payments until the investigation is over.
China has been a very loud vocal supporter of the WHO, as has the mainstream media. It shouldn’t shock you that the liberal-leaning mainstream media are China sympathizers. They denounced Trump’s stance on defunding the WHO. They claim Trump is trying to deflect blame and is lying about the WHO’s handling of coronavirus.
Trump doesn’t care about what the mainstream media thinks. He is going to continue his foreign policy, America First, and that triggers the left.
Yesterday Trump released the letter he sent to the WHO saying:
“On April 14, 2020, I suspended United States contributions to the World Health Organization pending an investigation by my Administration of the organization’s failed response to the month and identified others that the World Health Organization’s alarming lack of independence from the People’s Republic of China. Based on this review, we know the following:”
Trump then lays out in detail the reasons why the WHO does not deserve a single taxpayer dollar.
- “The World Health Organization consistently ignored credible reports of the virus spreading in Wuhan in early December 2019.”
The WHO turned a blind eye to the corrupt Chinese government. They knew there was something serious spreading through China, and instead of preparing the world, the WHO deliberately withheld this information.
- “By no later than December 30, 2019, the World Health Organization office in Beijing knew that there was a ‘major public health’ concern in Wuhan.”
The letter claims that “between December 26 and December 30, China’s media highlighted evidence of a new virus emerging from Wuhan, based on patient data sent to multiple Chinese genomics companies.” Meaning that even Chinese media was reporting on the virus in Wuhan. It continued to say, “during this period, Dr. Zhang Jixian, a doctor from Hubei Provincial Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, told China’s health authorities that a new coronavirus was causing a novel disease that was, at the time, afflicting approximately 180 patients.”
- “By the next day, Taiwanese authorities had communicated information to the World Health Organization indicating human-to-human transmission of a new virus.”
This is proof that the WHO knew about the virus in December before the Chinese government officially informed the organization, and additionally, they knew it had the capability of human-to-human transmission.
- “The International Health Regulations require countries to report the risk of health emergency within 24 hours. But China did not inform the World Health Organization of Wuhan’s several cases of pneumonia, of unknown origin, until December 31, 2019, even though it likely had knowledge of these cases days or weeks earlier.”
Trump’s letter also brings up the ways in which the WHO directly lied to the rest of the world and helped the Chinese government delay the submission of critical information about the virus.
It says on January 14, 2020, the World Health Organization spread China’s false claim that the virus is not transmitted by human-to-human transmission. On January 22, 2020, after consulting with the President of China, the WHO “told the world that the coronavirus did not pose a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.”
A week later, as bodies began to pile up, the WHO was forced to take back its initial statement downplaying the severity of the virus.
Lastly, the WHO praised China, saying that it bought the world time to handle the virus, when we now know China silenced whistleblowers and their media. They didn’t want the world to know about this virus.
China lied and people died. The WHO helped China cover up their mess, and needs to be held accountable for the lives lost.
