Ryan Seacrest Denying He Had A Stroke On Air

Well. I wasn’t expecting to write that headline today.

Apparently, during American Idol’s finale last night, Ryan Seacrest had…a moment.  I don’t know how else to describe this.  He starts out completely fine, and then all of a sudden one of his eyes is wonky and he slurs a little.  And you guys, it looks super bizarre:

His rep, however, told People magazine that he just needed a day off.

“Ryan did not have any kind of stroke last night. Like many people right now, Ryan is adjusting to the new normal and finding work-home balance, with the added stress of having to put on live shows from home. Between Live with Kelly and RyanAmerican IdolOn Air with Ryan Seacrest, and the Disney Family Singalong specials, he has been juggling three to four on-air jobs over the last few weeks and he’s in need of rest. So today he took a well-deserved day off.”

Listen – I hope Seacrest is completely fine.  There’s no question that he works harder than just about anyone else in the industry.  But that didn’t look like stress or exhaustion. That looked like some sort of malfunction.

Anyway, his rep says he didn’t have a stroke.  But yikes.
