Well, this is an interesting take:
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., claimed on Sunday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has held back sending the articles of impeachment brought against President Trump to the Senate to hurt Sen. Bernie Sanders’ chances of winning the Democratic nomination.
Speaking on Fox news’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” McCarthy said he believes that the Democratic establishment doesn’t want Sanders, an independent from Vermont who caucuses with the Democrats, to win the party’s nomination and that Pelosi is holding the articles of impeachment in order to keep Sanders off the campaign trail in the lead-up to the all-important Iowa Caucus next month.
“The Iowa caucus is on February third,” McCarthy said. “Bernie Sanders is in first place and what this does is benefit Joe Biden. This harms Sen. Sanders, who is in first place and could become their nominee because he will be stuck in a chair because Nancy Pelosi held the papers.”
So, the House Minority Leader thinks Pelosi is using the release of the impeachment articles to hurt Senator Bernie Sanders by preventing him from campaigning in advance of the Iowa primary.
Nothing like using your own political power to subtly influence the outcome of an election.
McCarthy points out that this looks a lot like what happened to Bernie Sanders in 2016.

If Sanders is pulled off the campaign trail to fulfill his Senate duties, that could help Joe Biden increase his odds in the Iowa primary.
Sanders is currently leading in Iowa, followed closely by Mayor Pete, who would also stand to benefit in Bernie’s absence. Biden is trailing in third place.
Pelosi’s supposed plan would also affect Senators Elizabeth Warren, Amy Klobuchar, Cory Booker, and Michael Bennett, all of whom are still running for president too.
Do you think this is Nancy’s master plan?
