Breitbart is calling out Republican Governors for increasing refugees in their states.
For the life of me, I cannot understand why elected officials cannot govern on the will of the people who elected them.
Now, does my heart go out to folks escaping war torn countries? Of course. Does my heart also worry about bringing in too many people who will not assimilate to American culture? Yes!
The last thing this country needs is another little Somalia type village that elected the radical Ilhan Omar in Minnesota.
Unbelievably, eighteen Republican governors have agreed to increase refugees in their states.
The GOP Governors are from:
- North Dakota
- New Hampshire
- West Virginia
- South Dakota
Refugees can receive Medicaid, food stamps and other public welfare. We simply cannot afford this as a country. Every five years, refugees cost the United States five billion dollars!
Governor Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas claims that most of the people coming into his state under the refuge program are coming to escape persecution due to cooperating with the U.S.
These nationals described by Hutchinson would almost never arrive through the refugee resettlement and instead be eligible for Special Immigrant visas like the special visa afforded to Iraqi and Afghani translators or the visa given to Iraqis who assisted the U.S. Armed Forces overseas.
It is important to note that states do not get to pick the refugees they get nor do they get a background on the refugees.
So, the governors have no real control over the program once they agree to participate.
If you are disturbed with this program and live in one of these states, contact your Governor and voice your concerns.
If that fails to sway them, there is always the ballot box.
