Republican Senator Disgusted After Military Briefing

Utah Republican Senator Mike Lee was furious after yesterday’s military briefing on Iran.

Fox News reports Lee complained,

I want to state at the outset: I support President Trump. The briefing lasted only 75 minutes, whereupon our briefers left. This, however, is not the biggest problem I have with the briefing, which I would add was probably the worst briefing I’ve seen at least on a military issue in the nine years I’ve served in the United States Senate.

So, THE WORST BRIEFING EVER. That’s pretty strong from a strong conservative senator who is normally a Trump ally.

Lee made clear that he is not upset with President Trump and does not disagree with the Soleimani strike.

He was pissed that there was not detailed information given to the senators to justify the attack.  He said,

What I found so distressing about that briefing, was that one of the messages we received from the briefers was, do not debate, do not discuss, the issue of the appropriateness of further military intervention against Iran

He went on to say he found it insulting and demeaning to the Constitution of the United States.

It is stuff like this that is so frustrating about this administration.

The Republican party is holding firm on the impeachment and then the administration does something that is just plain stupid.

It is simply a classic “unforced error”.

The Trump administration gave Democrats ammo yesterday when really the whole day should have been a big win for the Trump administration and America following the apparent deescalation of tensions with Iran.
