Trey Gowdy Slams Democrats’ Impeachment Talk

I miss Trey Gowdy in Congress. The former House Oversight Committee Chairman was a spitfire who didn’t take any crap.  Now he’s speaking out on the Democrats’ continued threats to impeach President Trump.

On Thursday, after months of talk, House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler announced that his committee has set ground rules for official impeachment proceedings.

Gowdy appeared on Fox’s “Your World” Saturday, where he called the impeachment attempts “a disaster from day one.”

Gowdy balked at Nadler’s efforts, arguing that the Democrats had already lost in their attempt to take the president down through the Russia investigation.

“You talk about mishandling something from day one, Nadler has mishandled — I mean, if we are debating nomenclature between an impeachment inquiry and an impeachment investigation, they’ve already lost,” he said.

Gowdy also reminded viewers that the Democrats claimed former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report and congressional testimony would provide substantial updates for the impeachment crusade, but instead they were flops.

Since leaving the House of Representatives, Gowdy has gone back to practicing law.  He also serves as a Fox news contributor.
