People Are Very Upset That A Fictional Murderous Clown Is ‘Homophobic’

Ashley (Kimber)

I have not seen “It,” but there are a few things about the horror movie I understand to be true:

  1. Pennywise is an evil, murderous clown.
  2. He’s the bad guy.

Apparently, bad guys should also be GOOD GUYS when it comes to gay rights? I’m not following. But people are maaad.

WAIT…wut?

In the aftermath of 2017’s It, Bill Skarsgård’s Pennywise the Dancing Clown became something of a gay icon. Between memes and makeup tutorials, Pennywise was everywhere — he and another monstrous LGBTQ+ favorite, the Babadook, were seen as #couplegoals. But after seeing It Chapter Two, I’m sad to announce that Pennywise is not gay, or even an ally. In fact, Pennywise is surprisingly anti-queer.

OOOOOOHHHH NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

THE HOMICIDAL CLOWN ISN’T OPENLY GAY. THIS IS A TRAVESTY.

I read the rest of the article. I won’t get too into it, to not spoil the film for those of you who want to see it, but apparently the clown kills indiscriminately, without sparing the gays. He also has no sex life because he’s busy killing people and all.

This is horrifically heartbreaking, as the clown was SUPPOSED to be a gay ally… or something.

No word on why these people WANTED to be “allies” with a sociopathic, murderous sewer demon. But here we are:

But also like… he’s a murderer? So even if he WAS…he’s a fictional character. And the bad guy should be, you know…bad.

ATTENTION: THERE’S A SPOILER IN THIS ONE:

PLEASE BE SAFE?!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

You came to watch a movie about A CLOWN THAT MURDERS PEOPLE but you legitimately need a trigger warning about this?!?

Like y’all are cool with him murdering kids but then he kills a gay couple and it’s time to SOUND THE ALARM?!

Are you gonna be ok though?
