Psychiatrist Says Trump May Be Responsible For More Deaths Than Hitler, Stalin, Mao

Erin Evans

Dr. Allen Frances, former chairman of the Duke University Psychiatry Department, claimed on CNN that President Donald Trump is as bad as the worst dictators of the 20th century and that his presidency may lead to even more deaths than they did.

Dr. Frances said it’s an insult to the mentally ill to compare them to Trump.

“Well, I think ‘medicalizing’ politics has three very dire consequences.  The first is that it stigmatizes the mentally ill.  I’ve known thousands of patients, almost all of them are well-behaved, well-mannered good people.  Trump is none of these.  Lumping that is a terrible insult to the mentally ill and they have enough problems and stigma as it is.”

“Second, calling Trump crazy hides the fact that we’re crazy for having elected him and even crazier for allowing his crazy policies to persist,” Frances went on.  “Trump is as destructive a person in this century as Hitler, Stalin, Mao in the last century.  He may be responsible for many more million deaths than they were.”

What policies did Frances cite that will lead to these millions upon millions of deaths?  Climate change, tax cuts for the rich, and the destruction of democracy via claims that the press and the courts are the enemy of the people.

I’d like to point out that President Trump isn’t wrong when he complains about the mainstream media – but, unlike communist dictators, he’s not suppressing and jailing journalists.

This is dangerous stuff.  CNN has a guest comparing the duly elected president of the United States to communist dictators, some of the worst men in history.  The regimes of Hitler, Stalin, and Mao, were responsible for some 75 MILLION deaths last century. They all actively imprisoned or executed those who disagreed with them.  Most of the deaths under Mao, by far the deadliest of the the three, were due to famine caused by his failed attempt at collectivized farming (read: socialism).

The Trump administration cannot honestly be equated to the regimes of communist dictators like Hitler, Stalin, and Mao.  The real story: now that the collusion narrative has failed, the left is falling back on the ol’ “Trump is a racist dictator” standby, regardless of whether it’s true.  (It’s not.)

Once again, the TDS here is off the charts.
