But Trump hates the gays, right?
President Trump has nominated Patrick Bumatay, an openly gay conservative, to serve on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. Yes. The notoriously HYUUUGE and LIBERAL circuit court.
.@POTUS @realDonaldTrump nominates Patrick Bumatay to the United States Court of Appeals for the #9thCircuit. If confirmed, Bumatay would become "the second openly gay federal appeals court judge in the nation" https://t.co/PA7tycZWiZ

President Trump announced an "18th wave" of judicial appointments last week, among them Patrick J. Bumatay, a federal prosecutor who is the second openly gay person Trump has nominated to become a federal judge, according to the Washington Blade. https://t.co/ol0qbYLiAH

This is clearly some sort of cover-up! We know he’s a flaming homophobe!
Bumatay is an assistant U.S. attorney in California handling various criminal issues, including opioid abuse and transnational organized crime, according to the White House. He went to Yale and Harvard Law School, and the White House said Bumatay is a member of the National Filipino American Lawyers Association, the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association and the Tom Homann LGBT Law Association.
By the way– this isn’t the first gay individual Trump has nominated to a significant position. Over the summer, he nominated Mary Rowland to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
It’s almost like Trump is picking people based on their qualifications or something. (Unlike libs, who are really into choosing people based on race, gender and sexual orientation alone).
Gregory T. Angelo, president of gay conservative group Log Cabin Republicans, applauded Trump’s nomination of Bumatay.
“As someone who has personally known Patrick for the better part of a decade, I can tell you I will have great personal satisfaction to see him seated on the bench on the 9th circuit,” Angelo told NBC News. “Patrick is highly qualified, and the fact that he is openly gay only adds to the historic nature of his nomination.”
If course, Democrats are going to fight the confirmation process, which according to their own rules, would make them anti-LGBT. Right?
