As a native Floridian, I’m incredibly disappointed Publix for caving to David Hogg and his crew of village idiots.
Quick recap. Publix is a magical place that’s known for Pub subs and delicious chicken tenders and amazing carrot cake. I do the bulk of my main grocery shopping there, because it’s a darn pleasure, and you can’t beat the BOGO deals.
Now, Publix also just so happens to actively support Adam Putnam’s gubernatorial run in Florida. The dude champions the Second Amendment.
Publix, the heirs to the company’s founder and its current and former leaders have given Putnam $670,000 in the last three years — or enough money to buy 74,527 chicken tender subs.
No other Florida candidate has ever come close to that kind of subsidy from Florida’s largest Fortune 500 company. Its most recent contribution, a $100,000 donation on April 30, was the largest, too, according to the latest campaign finance filings.
Putnam, like Publix, is a product of Polk County. He hails from Bartow, just 20 minutes from Publix’s headquarters in Lakeland — which company officials say is a factor in their support for him.
Surely, you see where this is going.
David Hogg is mad at Publix for supporting a guy who cares about our Second Amendment rights. Doesn’t Publix realize it’s basically giving money to a murderer? I mean, not exactly, but basically. Right Hogg?
Guess I’ll be getting my chocolate chip muffins elsewhere from now on. Common @Publix https://t.co/uSVso4nzLh

Long story short, he held a die-in at one of the store’s locations. ‘Cause that’s what adults do.

.@Publix I’m shaking in my boots awaiting your DM.

VIDEO: The die-in protest at Publix in Coral Springs turned into a shouting match between protesters and Trump supporters. @MikeMagsCBS12 is there. Latest at 5. https://t.co/EU0vygBgbG pic.twitter.com/Xa4r08a8x9

Publix caved to the spelling-challenged little brat. It said it would “suspend corporate-funded political contributions as we reevaluate our giving processes.”
Just Died-in down with @davidhogg111 in front of @Publix and they suspended they political contributions.
Proof that peaceful protest really works. #noNRAmoney #disarmhate— Diego Pfeiffer #NEVERAGAIN (@firepfeiffer1) May 25, 2018
No. It’s proof low-fos have way to much influence in this country.
Cue Rep. Ron DeSantis. He’s a Florida guy– my congressman– and he’s just as disappointed in Publix as the rest of us.
I can’t understand why Publix would cave to such misguided and unfair complaints. The protests against Publix are ridiculous — who the heck wants people laying down in a supermarket? Shopping won’t be a pleasure if left-wing agitators get their way. I’ll always stand up for #2A!

Thank you for your common sense take, Congressman! No one wants a bunch of ill-informed, whiny little brats interrupting their shopping experience. I prefer to grocery shop OUT of the presence of losers who want to take my Second Amendment rights away.
Thank you for refusing to cave to Hogg and his minions, DeSantis.
Now he’d make a great governor. Don’t you think?
