I’m wholeheartedly opposed to illegal immigration. I understand that it’s a difficult policy to navigate, but I think the first step should involve stopping more illegals from flowing into our country. Build the wall. Plug the hole, for the lack of a better phrase. Continuing to shower illegal immigrants with special treatment will only incentivize others to come here by the same means. It’s not fair to LEGAL immigrants of this country. That’s all we’re saying.
We’re not anti-immigration. We’re anti-illegal immigration. Big difference.
All that being said, I’m all for supporting candidates who are as opposed to illegal immigration as I am. However, I don’t think flaunting a “deportation bus” is the best idea. Yet, that’s exactly what Georgia gubernatorial candidate and current Georgia state Sen. Michael Williams is doing.

He’s one of five Republican candidates in Georgia’s gubernatorial race, and he’s using his deportation bus as a big selling point. In fact, he’s driving it across the state this week, even into sanctuary cities. “Danger! Murderers, rapists, kidnappers, child molesters, and other criminals on board” is written on the bus.
“We’re not just going to track them and watch them roam around the state,” Williams said. “We’re going to put them on this bus and send them home.”
To those who say the bus is racist, Williams said, “That’s not correct. What this is, is a bus that is focusing on people that have entered our country illegally.”
I mean…he’s not wrong. It’s absolutely not racist to say that illegal immigration is unacceptable.
I get what he’s trying to do. I’m just not sure if this is the best way to get the message across…
