Let’s Talk About This Sweet Gesture From Trump That You Probably Never Heard About…

Hannah Bleau

President Trump is rough around the edges. He’s not perfect. He’s not a wordsmith. He doesn’t have the oratory skills of Obama, but that doesn’t matter. I’d rather hear the ugly truth than beautiful lies.

Trump’s real. I feel like I could sit down and have a conversation with him over a cheeseburger. He says what we’re all thinking but don’t dare say out loud. Do I always agree with him? No. Do I always love the way he operates? No. But you’ll be hard-pressed to find ANYONE you completely agree with 100% of the time.

Some say he has an ego, but heck. He has the same “America is awesome attitude” that MOST of us have. I’d argue that his “ego” pales in comparison to Obama’s or Hillary’s. He may be a gazillionaire, but he gets us. He understands that $1000 isn’t “crumbs” to us. He knows what we value, and I can say with total confidence that he loves and adores this country. President Trump believes America is the most kick a$$ country in the history of the world. We’re the greatest, and he knows it and embraces it. He wants us to continue to be the greatest.

I couldn’t say the same for Obama. He always wanted to take our country down a few pegs. Not Trump.

One of the things I love most about Trump? He’s genuine love and devotion to the US military. He respects them. He knows they put their lives on the line every single day. He recognizes their sacrifices. How do I know that? It’s not just what he says. It’s little things he does.

We received this email from a clever and competent reader, and it got me feelin’ all weepy.

It reads in part:

Please try to understand the weight of this image. This soldier lost both arms. The feeling of a handshake is now lost to him.

Trump realized this, and so touched his face, so he can feel the human connection. This is what I see when I think of Trump’s motives. He gave up a billionaire lifestyle to now be insulted, dragged through the mud, and lied about, on a daily basis.

All to save this country and people he loves.

That picture speaks volumes.

Trump’s not perfect. He doesn’t do everything right, but he’s a fighter. I believe he has a good heart, and truthfully? God can use anyone– even someone like Trump. Just look at the personalities and character flaws of some of the leaders God used in the Bible.

Just sayin’.

But that picture though. LOVE.
