Harvey Weinstein Speaks To Reporters: ‘We All Make Mistakes’

Hannah Bleau

Harvey Weinstein is breaking his silence. I know. I swear he already broke it once, but I guess I was wrong. I was thinking of the statement made through his rep.

“Mr. Weinstein obviously can’t speak to anonymous allegations, but with respect to any women who have made allegations on the record, Mr. Weinstein believes that all of these relationships were consensual,” his rep told The New Yorker magazine. “Mr. Weinstein has begun counseling, has listened to the community and is pursuing a better path. Mr. Weinstein is hoping that, if he makes enough progress, he will be given a second chance.”

Weinstein HIMSELF has finally issued a public response to reporters. This came directly from him. Are you ready for this?

We all make mistakes.”

That’s it. Yes, really.

No. Dropping your sandwich and creating a giant mustard stain in the carpet is a mistake. A typo on an article is a mistake. Accidentally leaving the curling iron on is a mistake. Repeatedly sexually harassing women is not a “mistake.” It was an intentional thing he did REPEATEDLY.

Does he not realize how serious this is?

Also, he wants us all to know that he’s not doing OK.

“Guys, I’m not doing OK, but I’m trying,” Weinstein told reporters. “I got to get help.”

“A second chance, I hope,” he added.
