On Saturday, various media outlets reported the *shocking* news that Donald Trump’s first foreign trip as POTUS will be to a summit in Iceland, where he’ll meet directly with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Donald Trump is planning to hold a summit with Vladimir Putin within weeks of becoming president — emulating Ronald Reagan’s Cold War deal-making in Reykjavik with Mikhail Gorbachev,” The Sunday Times reported. “Trump and his team have told British officials that their first foreign trip will be a meeting with the Russian leader, with the Icelandic capital in pole position to host the superpower talks as it did three decades ago.”
The Sunday Times said Trump is looking to “reset” relations with Russia and plans to discuss “a deal limiting nuclear weapons.”
Of course, everyone’s all, “OMG TRUMP WANTS TO MEET WITH PUTIN ASAP THEY ARE BASICALLY LOVERS!”
However, incoming White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said that report is “100% false.” It’s “fake news,” if you will.
