Germany Bans Sausages In Schools. No Joke.

This is how a country begins to lose its identity.

According to that sourcelink, a whole bunch of German restaurants, daycare centers, and schools have decided to stop serving sausage, bacon, and other pork products in their establishments so as not to hurt the feelings of Muslim migrants coming into Germany.

It’s not happening without argument. One member of the CDU party, Daniel Gunther, said, “The protection of minorities – including for religious reasons – must not mean that the majority is overruled in their free decision by ill-conceived consideration.”

I’m amazed that this requires explaining out loud. But the fact that it does is proof of how insidious this politically correct, multiculturalistic approach to everything actually is.

No one is forcing Muslims to eat pork products, but that certainly doesn’t mean they can’t exist on a typical German menu. Gunther said further, “The consumption of pork belongs to our culture. No one should be obliged to do so. But we also don’t want the majority having to refrain from pork.”

Imagine Oktoberfest without sausage and bratwurst, for crying out loud. Ludicrous.

It pains me to see what’s happening Germany right now, after having the opportunity to visit there in both the summer of 2013 and the summer of 2014. My husband and I adored Cologne, and stayed right across from the famous Cathedral, in the very square where so many women were sexually assaulted and groped by disgusting rabid migrants just weeks ago. And the fact that Angela Merkel has become so recklessly stubborn about having such an open-door refugee policy is just plain irresponsible. She’s putting the entire country at risk.

And now there are places banning sausages out of some misguided need to be culturally sensitive. MIGRANTS are the ones who should be culturally sensitive. They’re being hosted by the country, and they should behave as grateful guests.

UPDATE: FWIW – Snopes (if you choose to take Snopes seriously) says this is “mostly false.”
