President Trump Announces A National Emergency In The Rose Garden

President Trump just announced a national emergency in the Rose Garden. This will ultimately pull from other funds to #BuildTheWall, but it won’t go without significant legal challenges.

There’s so much back and forth. I initially said that this was the only way Trump could get away with signing that ridiculously bloated (yet still inadequate, wall $-wise) spending bill. I still believe that. I know a lot of people are trying to say that this will set a bad precedent, but other presidents have declared national emergencies, and honestly, if a Democrat becomes POTUS again and wants to declare a national emergency on “gun violence,” the lack of a precedent wouldn’t stop them.
