I love Chicago in many ways.
My boyfriend’s family is all super old-school Chicago. They are WONDERFUL and their Christmas parties are epic… so I’ve built some lovely memories there.
My little brother lives and works in Chicago, too.
There’s a lot to love about the city – the history, the food, the culture… which is why it BREAKS MY HEART that it’s turned into such a SLUM. I mean HOLY CRAP… people are getting shot at by the truckload.
SOMETHING NEEDS TO GIVE… but it won’t. Not under Democratic leadership.
Anyway… there was a back to school “Peace Picnic” last night. Guess what happened there.
…You already know what happened there.
According to Fox News:
Three people were shot at a back-to-school peace picnic held at a playground in Chicago on Saturday night.
A fourth person was beaten up at the event that was held to promote peace and community.
FFS. This is ridiculous.
The picnic, which took place at Seward Park on the city’s North Side, was off to a safe start, but onlookers say the mood quickly turned when a group of young men showed up and started fighting.
“It’s senseless and should have never happened,” event organizer Raymond Hatcher told reporters. “We were doing well. Everything was going swell and then a group of guys who were not associated with us, came to the event intoxicated.”
They literally can’t have a picnic without freaking THUGS showing up and ruining it for everyone.
Hatcher, who puts on the event that is attended by hundreds of people every year, shook his head as police roped off the area with red crime-scene tape.
Nineteen-year-old Trayvon Hatcher came with his two nephews to the park on Saturday.
“Everyone was trying to get away,” he told reporters.
Hatcher said when he heard the shots, he grabbed his nephews and left.
But that’s just the norm in Chicago now, isn’t it?
25 people were shot over the span of 14 hours in Chicago this weekend, including a 3-year-old boy.
Police say the child was hit in his left shin in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side. He was transported to a children’s hospital and was in stable condition.
Completely unacceptable.
But of course… the BLM crowd won’t even address it. In fact, they say it’s RACIST to bring up what’s going on in Chicago. “Black on black violence” isn’t what THEY want to focus on… despite that it’s costing SIGNIFICANTLY more black people their lives.
