Police Unions Call For Miami Dolphins Boycott Over National Anthem Protests

The NFL’s preseason is underway. It made my heart happy to hear whistles in the background of my house again. I love football and football season for a lot of reasons. Some of you know this, but my youngest sister has cerebral palsy. She used to have epilepsy too (God healed her of that!), but there was a lot of stress in our house growing up, and that was one of the things we really looked forward to as a family. We’d make a big deal out of football Sundays. We’d make dips, wear Pats (or Jags, ’cause that’s my other home team) gear and gather in the living room and watch the game together. No matter how crazy our week was, we’d relax as a family. We still do that together. My little sis is so funny. She’ll sit her wheelchair and wave a Patriots shirt around to the best of her ability when we get a touch down.

That being said, I’m not sorry about refusing to boycott the NFL. I’m NOT happy about the national anthem protests and the NFL’s inability to take a stand, but football season goes a little deeper for me. I was just REALLY hoping the kneeling thing wouldn’t be an issue this year, but it looks like it will be to some extent.

Two Miami Dolphins players decided to kneel ahead of the first preseason game.

Hence, the calls for a boycott.

Via Fox News Insider:

Broward County PBA Vice President Rod Skirvin told the Miami Herald that the action was a “slap in the face.”

The PBA posted on its Facebook page that it is encouraging its members to call the team’s ticket office and request a refund.

The post stated that its members were also offered game ticket discounts because the team had previously said players who protest could be suspended up to four games.

Here’s the post:

Shame on those two players for starting this up again. It’s so selfish.

Trump responded thusly:

Over it.
