Iran’s Internet Blackout Reaches Day 70.

Something that isn’t being talked about enough is the internet blackout in Iran. The IRGC has blocked a majority of the country from basic internet usage for the past 70 days and counting. This is a major issue for many reasons. Citizens of Iran are being cut off from any news source that isn’t directly from the IRGC, they are cut off from family members inside and outside of the country, livelihoods are being destroyed, and it’s affecting the education of the youth.
The regime’s ongoing refusal to restore the internet is a symbol of its weakness. They’re terrified to let Iranians and the world see just how fragile and vulnerable to collapse the Islamic Republic has become. https://t.co/vqemXRHajf

The IRGC has also banned VPNs and Starlink satellites. For those who live near the Iraq border, they are able to cross into the country to get online. However, millions of people are unable to get any form of internet access. Why is this important? It shows that the IRGC is scared. They want to control the narrative, they don’t want their people to know what’s really going on so they don’t rise up against them. Also, what exactly don’t they want their people to see? America’s success? Maybe. I don’t know. I haven’t asked them. It also shows their economy is collapsing. With businesses going under due to the blackout, who is bringing in revenue? There have been a few people able to get on the internet though, and the people are ready to rise up.
“I don't know when they'll cut my internet again, but we will not stop. We aren't waiting for outside help. It’s us and our Shah, and that’s enough for our revolution.” 🔥

An Iranian protester just managed to post this from inside the country.
THIS is exactly why the Iranian… https://t.co/rVXxMrztwh pic.twitter.com/fU1c1Unxj8
But don’t be fooled by what you are seeing from “inside Iran.” There have been many AI generated photos and videos showing Iranian victories. But if most of the country is blacked out, who’s posting those? IRGC accounts. It’s easy to get discouraged and think this thing may never end. That the administration got more than what they bargained for. I’m speaking to myself here. But what we need to remember is this internet blackout is showing just how fragile the IRGC is and how close they are to a full on collapse.
