The Most Important White House MYSTERY Has Been SOLVED! (Thank GAWD.)

You guys! A TREE WENT MISSING AT THE WHITE HOUSE.
This is a case for the FBI!
(Unlike all of those missing emails. Who cares about those, am I right?)
The riveting mystery of the missing oak tree planted by President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron at the White House has been solved.
Americans – and French citizens – can now breathe a sigh of relief.
PHEW.
But many may not have even known there was a mystery at all, following the apparent disappearance of the sapling that was ceremonially planted by the two leaders and their wives last week during the state visit of France’s president.

A gift from the people of France, the tree planted on the White House lawn originally grew at the site of World War I’s Battle of Belleau Wood, near the Marne River in France, in which thousands of American soldiers died in 1918 fighting a German offensive. The European sessile oak is about four feet and five inches tall and five to 10 years old, according to CNN.
Lovely.
But then…
A few days after the planting, the tree had vanished.
DUN DUN DUUUUUUN.

“Something of a mystery has taken root at the White House,” ABC News reported.

Don’t worry folks. We have ANSWERS!
Well, after all the brouhaha, it turns out the tree planting was only ceremonial as he plant needed to be quarantined before it could be permanently planted, following U.S. Customs and Border Protection guidelines.
French ambassador to the US, Gerard Araud, said the tree’s “disappearance” was only temporary. “It is in quarantine which is mandatory for any living organism imported to the US. It will be replanted afterwards,” he tweeted
OH THANK GOD.

He also explained that the roots had initially been wrapped in plastic during the ceremonial planting.
No. The roots were enclosed in a plastic protection. https://t.co/3HkZgl08m1

It was not exposed. The roots remained carefully isolated. https://t.co/yCpvoh8AZo

Once the conspiracy theories could be tossed aside, it seemed clear that the Trump administration is pretty serious about immigration – even of plants.
Twitter users following the mystery or just learning about it once it was solved, weighed in on the episode.
Even the tree from France (gift from Macron) needs to be thoroughly vetted and quarantined before entering the US. Why shouldn’t people?https://t.co/qZiDJzCdFw
