Schiff Attempts To Blast Trump For Putting The Democratic Memo’s Release On Hold

The memo madness continues.

While the House panel voted to release Schiff’s counter-memo, President Trump sent it back and said it cannot be released until some revisions are made.

“Although the President is inclined to declassify the February 5th [Democratic] Memorandum, because the Memorandum contains numerous properly classified and especially sensitive passages, he is unable to do so at this time,” White House counsel Donald McGahn wrote. “However, given the public interest in transparency in these unprecedented circumstances, the President has directed that Justice Department personnel be available to give technical assistance to the Committee, should the Committee wish to revise the February 5th Memorandum to mitigate the risks identified by the Department.”

“The Executive branch stands ready to review any subsequent draft of the February 5th Memorandum for declassification at the earliest opportunity,” McGahn added.

We expected this to happen. This was by design. Democrats deliberately structured the counter-memo that way.

Sources tell @foxnews that the @AdamSchiffCA memo contains information pertaining to "sources and methods" that will likely require redaction. One source says this was done tactically to force the @realDonaldTrump into making changes – setting up a contrast with GOP memo

They wanted to force Trump to send it back for revisions. They wanted him to look shady and non-transparent. Hence the whole “he’s hiding something!” narrative.

This move by @realDonaldTrump confirms what we have all known for weeks — that his decision to release the #NunesMemo was a blatantly political move made without concern for national security. The hypocrisy is on full display. What does the President have to hide?

If the president really believes the Nunes memo vindicates him, as he has said, what is he hiding by blocking the Schiff memo? Any minor redactions should be made as quickly as possible and the memo should be released. (3/3)

The Democrats sent a very political and long response memo which they knew, because of sources and methods (and more), would have to be heavily redacted, whereupon they would blame the White House for lack of transparency. Told them to re-do and send back in proper form!

It’s all so idiotic. Isn’t this the same guy who fought tooth and nail against the other memo’s release?

Let’s be honest. He’s just mad that Trump exposed their game.

Don’t get me wrong. I want to see the memo too, but we all know what the Democrats are up to.

Anyway, Marc Short, the Assistant to the President and Director of Legislative Affairs, said the memo will be released eventually.
