Stephen King Issues The Absolute Worst Apology Ever

On Thursday, Stephen King decided to joke about Wednesday’s fatal train crash.

A trainload of Republicans on their way to a pricey retreat hit a garbage truck. My friend Russ calls that karma.

It’s not like this was a knee-jerk reaction. He tweeted this a DAY later. He knew someone died and decided to make an inappropriate joke anyway.

There was a fatality in that wreck. But, yeah, laugh it up.

I guess he spent a few hours reflecting, because he decided to issue a half a$$ apology. I don’t even know why he bothered, because he made it ABUNDANTLY clear he didn’t feel it was warranted. He was all (I’m paraphrasing) “I don’t feel like I need to apologize because I meant every word I said, but you people are hounding me so I’ll feign remorse. The GOP is still evil, but some of the Republican lawmakers tried to help the injured but idc and still hate them.”

A rather thoughtless tweet from me concerning the train-truck crash, for which I apologize (if one is necessary). It should be pointed out, too, that those Republican politicians, who can be heartless when they vote, immediately got out to help.
