I know who “XXXTentacion” is for one reason, and one reason only.
He raised quite a few eyebrows after “hanging” a little boy in one of his music videos.
He has passed away after being shot Deerfield Beach, FLA.

Rapper XXXTentacion has been shot dead, according to TMZ.
The rapper, whose real name is Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, was shot outside a motorcycle store in Deerfield Beach, Fla., just before 4.p.m. Monday. He was transported to a local area hospital.
The Broward County Sherriff’s Office did not identify the 20-year-old as the victim, but tweeted around 5:40 p.m. on Monday, “The adult male that was taken to the hospital has been pronounced dead.”
An hour before that, the Sherriff tweeted that cops are “currently working an incident regarding a shooting at 3671 N. Dixie Hwy., Deerfield Beach. PIO headed to scene. Dispatchers received a call of a shooting at 3:57 p.m. An adult male victim was transported to an area hospital.”
According to TMZ, the rapper had been leaving a motorcycle dealership in a car when someone ran up and shot him. The website also reports that a Louis Vuitton bag was stolen from the vehicle.
The slain rapper had an extensive legal history. At the time of his death he was awaiting trial for domestic violence against a pregnant ex-girlfriend. He was also facing witness harassment and tampering charges.
Despite the controversy, the rapper had developed a loyal following and his second album, “?,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart in March.
The loss of a life is a sad thing, but (yes, there IS a but)…
I have to be honest and admit that it kind of freaks me out that this guy was idolized by young people. His rap sheet is horrific. He beat up his PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND, for crying out loud.
I doubt this was a random attack. Based on his extensive criminal record, I’m going to venture to say he’s not exactly hanging out with a clean-cut crew.
But his album debuted at No. 1. People idolized this guy. People buy his “music” and think he’s cool. People think the video where he hangs a little boy is “iconic.”
I don’t see this as anything but problematic.
