A few people were slightly irked by President Trump’s recent remarks about Otto Warmbier.
“I really think that Otto is someone who did not die in vain. I told this to his parents. A special young man and I have to say special parents, special people. Otto did not die in vain,” he said. “He had a lot to do with us being here today.”
I wonder what Otto Warmbier’s parents are thinking tonight as “POTUS” shakes the hand of the man who tortured their son.

While people praises Trump for the summit that wasn’t a summit but more of a photo op, I want us to take a minute to think of Otto Warmbier’s parents. As the President of The United States gives a thumbs up to the man responsible for the murder of their son. pic.twitter.com/jCEFrIMgP9

I get what President Trump was trying to say, and so did Otto’s parents. They actually thanked him for his remarks.
Statement from Fred and Cindy Warmbier, the parents of Otto Warmbier: “We appreciate President Trump’s recent comments about our family. We are proud of Otto and miss him. Hopefully something positive can come from this.”

“We appreciate President Trump’s recent comments about our family,” Fred and City Warmbier said in a statement. “We are proud of Otto and miss him. Hopefully something positive can come from this.”
It doesn’t sound like they’re interested in fighting. They’re not offended. They’re HOPING something positive will come of this, which is incredibly strong of them to say. I have so much respect for them.
