President Trump Signs Executive Order Overhauling Safety Net Programs, Alyssa Milano FREAKS Out

This fell under the radar– most people have been focusing on the Syria strikes and Comey’s lame interview– but President Trump signed an executive order which will ” revamp the country’s social safety net, targeting recipients of Medicaid, food stamps and housing assistance.”

It calls on the Departments of Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Agriculture and other agencies across the federal government to craft new rules requiring that beneficiaries of a host of programs work or lose their benefits.

That’s the goal– to get able-bodied people on these programs to put in a little effort and HELP THEMSELVES. He’s not arbitrarily RIPPING assistance away from hungry children.

“Since its inception, the welfare system has grown into a large bureaucracy that might be susceptible to measuring success by how many people are enrolled in a program rather than by how many have moved from poverty into financial independence,” it states.

As Reagan said, “We should measure welfare’s success by how many people leave welfare, not by how many are added.”

The order is directed at “any program that provides means-tested assistance or other assistance that provides benefits to people, households or families that have low incomes.”

Cue the mass freakouts from people like Alyssa Milano.

I’m sorry, but how is asking able-bodied individuals to put in a little effort wrongly “targeting” recipients, exactly? I fail to see how that’s problematic. We want to lift people OUT of poverty. Not keep them there.

The HORROR, right?

Meanwhile, these clowns are pushing for food stamps for dogs.

It never ends.
