Andrew Pollack is the father of Meadow, one of the 17 victims of last week’s massacre in Parkland, Florida. He was at the White House Listening Session with President Trump, where he voiced his opinion about how we need to fix schools.
I think of my baby girl, and my heart breaks into a million pieces just trying to imagine what he’s going through right now. It’s unfathomable.
His points are so right on, though. I mean, why IS it that we have security at every other government building in our country? At airports? In MY company building? In freaking jewelry stores? At banks? Why is it that our elected officials get armed security? Why is it that celebrities (who are screaming for gun control) have armed guards? Yet, my most precious possession on the planet isn’t protected with the same fervor – IN A TAXPAYER-FUNDED BUILDING?
And don’t tell me we don’t have the money. We spend 134 BILLION DOLLARS a year on illegal aliens. Well, my kid and your kid dream about safety at school – it’d be wonderful if they could have the kind of school experience I had when I was a kid, wouldn’t it? One can DREAM. After all, you and I fund these schools. So it’s about time we made our kids a priority. And then we’ll talk about the 330 million “assault weapons” you want to try to confiscate from legal, law-abiding, taxpaying citizens.
Continued, steadfast prayers for Andrew Pollack and his family.
