Democrats and Republicans are struggling to strike an immigration deal. And by that I mean, Democrats refuse to work with Republicans and flat-out refused to entertain President Trump’s proposal, even though he floated a path to citizenship for 1.8 million illegals.
It’s a partisan game. They’re using illegals as a bargaining chip. President Trump totally called their bluff.
I have offered DACA a wonderful deal, including a doubling in the number of recipients & a twelve year pathway to citizenship, for two reasons: (1) Because the Republicans want to fix a long time terrible problem. (2) To show that Democrats do not want to solve DACA, only use it!

Democrats are not interested in Border Safety & Security or in the funding and rebuilding of our Military. They are only interested in Obstruction!

So here we are. No deal so far. President Trump’s Chief of Staff John Kelly spoke about this to reporters, and his remarks are triggering snowflakes everywhere. Reporters asked Kelly why Trump floated a deal that would boost the number of those eligible to 1.8 million, and he delivered an entirely honest answer.
“There are 690,000 official DACA registrants and the president sent over what amounts to be two-and-a-half times that number, to 1.8 million,” Kelly said. “The difference between 690 [thousand] and 1.8 million were the people that some would say were too afraid to sign up, others would say were too lazy to get off their asses, but they didn’t sign up.”

Perhaps that sounds harsh, but isn’t that what we’re ALL thinking?
Trump Chief John Kelly just said: “The difference between 690,000 & 1.8 million were the people that some would say were too afraid to sign up, others would say were too lazy to get off their asses.”
We are dealing with monsters, people. Absolute monsters. #KellyResign #SaveDACA

Oh please.
Dear White House Chief of Staff John Kelly:
Dreamers were not ‘too lazy’ to apply for DACA
Maybe have some idea what you are talking about before trashing hundreds of thousands of people.
Thanks.https://t.co/ZfbTbdJ8y5

This is how John Kelly describes the larger pool of immigrants Trump allegedly wants to legalize: “1.8 million were the people that some would say were too afraid to sign up, others would say were too lazy to get off their asses, but they didn’t sign up.” https://t.co/ytOyXfvVnH

Running out of words for this regime. They are just despicable! https://t.co/wQPzM8D5FV

Chief of Staff John Kelly’s smear of the DREAMers who’ve resisted registering for DACA protection as just “too lazy to get off their asses” is both idiotic and cruel. Relying on HIM to rein in #Trump is the height of self-deception.

Trump’s Chief of Staff John Kelly just said some DREAMERS were “too lazy to get off their asses” and signup for DACA. He is misinformed. Trump Voters are the ones who are TOO LAZY TO GET OFF THEIR ASSES to fact check @realDonaldTrump and discover he lies to them about everything.

So triggered.

Joy Reid is the self-appointed spokeswoman for illegal immigrants of America. Just in case you didn’t know.
Dear John Kelly: undocumented immigrants are anything but lazy. They work hard every day with no promise of citizenship or a return on their taxes when they get old. If they were afraid to sign up for DACA, perhaps it’s bc many feared that one day someone like you would run DHS.
— Joy Reid (@JoyAnnReid) February 6, 2018
Right on Joy! Take, for instance, the illegal immigrant who murdered Colts player Edwin Jackson. He was previously deported more than once. It took effort to come back here ILLEGALLY. He’s definitely not lazy. So #persistent, right Joy?
John Kelly said some DREAMers were “too lazy to get off their asses” and sign up for #DACA.
And he’s right. If you’re not going to care enough about your status and get deported because you were too lazy to sign up, that’s not anybody’s problem but your own.

The truth hurts.
