So, Natalie Portman put this photo up on her Instagram last night in celebration of the Golden Globes. It was with her friend America Ferrera:
The caption? I’m glad you asked.
It was this: “My prom date to the revolution #WHYWEWEARBLACK #TIMESUP”
Natalie is a warrior, y’all. A warrior for women who have been sexually assaulted and whatnot. Dontchaknow? She’s just like all the other women in that room last night who are TOTAL WARRIORS WEARING BLACK AND THROWING OUT HASHTAGS OMG.
Which is why I found it fantastic that someone on her Instagram page had the balls to point out the fact that she signed a petition back in 2009 to free Roman Polanski. You know, along with a bunch of other sheep-like celebrities. You can check out that petition here. It’s in French. But Babelfish it, or find a French friend and they’ll tell you that Natalie and friends wanted a rapist POS to be free.
That was in 2009, though. You know, before it was cool to be all hashtaggy and wearing black to the Globes and preaching to us about Time-being-up and stuff.
These people make me want to hurl.
