The #DayWithoutImmigrants Trend Is Proof That Nobody Understands The Difference Between Legal And Illegal Immigration

Miss CJ

Apparently, there’s this big protest/strike/tantrum going on today that’s all about immigrants and how Trump is so MEEEEEEEAN to them. So, organizers decided to whip up immigrants (mostly illegal ones) into a frenzy and get them to just not show up to work today.

Pro-Tip: If a business is closed today because their workers didn’t show up, that is a fairly good sign that they employ illegal immigrants and thus are breaking the law.

The tweets pointing out the PAINFULLY obvious (not to mention the obviously stupid) talking points about this supposed “strike” are quite fun, though –

An entire post could be devoted to debunking every one of those points, actually.

As another person commented: Today’s the day to take back the job you lost to an illegal immigrant!

Oh, and Comfort Suites actually NOTIFIED their customers that there would be no housekeeping today because their illegal immigrant maids are off striking. So sorry for the inconvenience –

Really, what all of this amounts to is a glorified b*tchfest from illegal immigrants who think they’re entitled to freebies from the federal government without doing anything for it. NEWSFLASH, amigos – you are entitled to NOTHING. Or to put it in a way you can better understand: Se deben NADA a usted (translation courtesy of my fluent-in-Spanish hubby). You coming here without permission does NOT give you the right to demand anything from us. If you’d come here LEGALLY and followed the rules just like everyone else (and just like my ancestors did – so please, spare me that “We Are All Immigrants” nonsense), we wouldn’t have a problem.

Personally, I’m getting tired of the left pushing this idea that every person coming here with a tragic tale is entitled to becoming an American or even living here. NOBODY is entitled to live here. No other country does that. They all police their borders and have the final say in who is and who is not welcome. Why do we have to accept every Sally Sob Story coming up on our shores or hopping the border? Why can’t we take each situation on a case-by-case basis and decide who can come in and who has to go back?

Quite frankly, it’s insulting to the American tradition of immigration. And I’m sick of it.
